{"id":328,"date":"2009-01-21T20:25:07","date_gmt":"2009-01-22T03:25:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/esmithy.net\/sparks\/?p=328"},"modified":"2022-09-15T18:08:52","modified_gmt":"2022-09-16T00:08:52","slug":"logitech-layoffs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/esmithy.net\/sparks\/2009\/01\/21\/logitech-layoffs\/","title":{"rendered":"Logitech Layoffs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some of you noticed that Logitech, my employer, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.logitech.com\/index.cfm\/172\/5464&amp;cl=us,en\">announced a couple of weeks ago<\/a> that it was going to do some layoffs, and expressed concern about whether I&#8217;d still have a job.<\/p>\n<p>It was kind of a strange situation. I&#8217;ve been through a few layoffs in the past, but those have always been executed at the same time that they were announced. It made&nbsp;for a&nbsp;stressful couple of weeks, wondering if I&#8217;d be around to <em>do<\/em> the things my team was planning. Little glitches, like getting disconnected from the email server and being prompted for a password would make your heart skip a beat while you wondered if it was significant. I&#8217;m also a relatively <a href=\"\/sparks\/2008\/06\/03\/the-next-page-in-my-career\/\">new employee<\/a>, so I was worried that that might put me at greater risk.<\/p>\n<p>All the layoffs actually happened this morning, and I&#8217;m happy to say that I continue to be employed. Even better, all the people that I work most closely with also kept their jobs.
